Cam seal leaking.......Disributor cap quite a mess. 850 1994

I posted yesterday about a stalling problem I was having with my '94 850 N/A. Today I changed the plugs, but when I pulled the distributor cap, I think I found the cause of my stalling. The inside of the cap and rotor were almost black with 'toasted oil'. Fearing that I may ruin the new cap and rotor, I cleaned the old and put it back together until I decide how to replace the seal, me or my indie.

Is changing this seal difficult? I am not sure how to hold the cam shaft to remove the center bolt that holds the rotor mounting plate. Is there some sort of special tool or some other trick to acomplish this task? After the center bolt is removed, does this plate come off without a puller? Is it keyed so I can't get it oriented wrong?

Thanks in advance.

Dan W.
