'94 850 Wagon rear brake bulb replacement..... 850 1994

I am trying to replace the rear brake light bulb in my wagon. According to the manual I am supposed to remove the rear post tweeter by pressing the "red" tabs per the instructions. Is there a special way to push these tabs? Straight back, to the sides, maybe up or down as when I push straight back like the book shows there is no "play" whatsoever in the tabs...... Any help appreciated...

Also saw in a forum search here that someone noted that there is a difference, I beleive in terms of heat buildup) between the "Volvo" bulb than a generic 1156... Any comments on this????

Thanks,
makntraks
