Anyone used Volvo OEM tow hitch wiring kit? V70-XC70 2000

I have the OEM plug, but I'm not sure if my answer will be helpful to you. I picked up my car on European Delivery at a Paris Volvo dealer with the hitch and plug factory installed. It's a US model in every way, but the 7-pin plug is European. I'm not sure if the OEM plugs sold here in the US are the same or different. In any case, with the wiring already there, it was a piece of cake to splice in a US plug once I got home.
By the way, I rented a camping trailer (1500 kg) and towed it around southern Germany and Austria. What a great trip that was!!
