Clank noise from the back 850 1994

hi,
if as you say the shocks and springs are ok then check the rear sway bar mountings as these have been know to break, next pull the carpet etc in the boot until you can see the upper mountings for the rear shocks then get someone to sit in the back while you drive on a bumpy road and observe the upper shock mounts to check if they move up and down too much. if they do then the rubber part of the upper mount is probably broken (easy to replace and cheap) as this can cause the noise you describe.

steve.
