The filter IPD et al sell is the Magnefine in line filter that goes in the transmission lines (also low pressure power steering line). You need to cut one rubber transmission line to install it. The upper line carries ATF from the tranny to the rad and the lower one back to the tranny. The manufacturer recommends installing it in the return (lower) hose on older trannys although space is very limited on these sidewinder engines. A lot of guys on the forum just use the top line for easier access. It's helpful to have some spare tranny cooler line and make a loop to give a little more room. Main pitfall is installing the filter backwards. Make sure the arrow points in the direction of flow.
