Water Leak on floor after heavy rain S80 2001

Hello,

My 2001 S80 Volvo is my first Volvo. I really like it.

However, we had very heavy rains this week down in Florida.

When my wife took the kids out for lunch, after the car sat in the rain all morning, one of the kids in the back passenger side, noticed water splashing out of the vent tube underneath the drivers seat. They had not driven more than a 1/4 mile or so when this occurred.

Any ideas what would cause this or how to prevent it?

I just bought the car a week or so ago and this is our first time out in heavy rains. I have not yet gotten an owner's manual so we are figuring out everything by trial and error.
