Steering rack play... Adjustable?

Go to www.gapa.com; scroll down until you get to the Swedish flag, Trollhatten parts, type part number 9140788 in, and look at the picture. I tried several numbers until I found one that had a picture. If this part is similar to the one you need, then yes, you need an inner tie rod.

To ascertain which steering rod to order on a 70 series, see the product plate in the engine compartment, on the left wheel arch next to battery; it will be stamped 4 or 5, line 26, just count from the beginning and stop when you reach 26. If it’s a number 4, the part number is 3546266; if it’s a number 5, the part number is 9191410. The 5 has always been the one I needed, and it doesn’t look like a 5 on the plate, it looks like an S. List price is $90.73.

Hope this helps,

Chris
