Oil Leak at Drain Plug V70-XC70 1998

I have 80,000 miles on my 1998 Cross Country and had all my maintenance performed at our one local dealer. After my last oil change I noticed a leak and discovered that it was leaking at the oil drain plug. My dealer has worked on the leak 3 times and has not been able to stop the drip. He tells me that he has tried everything and I must get a new oil pan installed at a cost of $800.00 to stop the drip. I would sure hope there is a better answer. I went back through old posts but was not able to find a discussion on this problem. Since this dealer is the only one that changed the oil, could they have ruined the threads and want me to pay for a new drain pan??? Should I take it to a dealer in the next town?? HELP
