a/c clutch doesn't kick in, relay seems to be ok 850 1996

My a/c compressor clutch doesn't engage when I turn the a/c on. It never kicks in, even with the car cold. When I trigger the switch on/off for the a/c, I hear the relay clicking behind the glove box. Tried to short the relay terminals 87 and 30 (like if the ac was on) but it didnt fix the problem. Too, I tried to short the 2 terminals of the sensor near the firewall on one of the freon lines and didnt do anything.

The relay clicking is the only noise I hear when I switch it on/off.

That is all I tried, based on old posts from other users.

Is there another electric/electronic point of failure I miss? Tomorrow, I will probe if I get voltage at the clutch connection on the compressor.

thanks!
