windshield wiper arm setup 850 1994

I've had to bend mine back a few times since owning the car. They weren't hitting the hood, but at the top of the wipers arc on the drivers side, the wiper blade was loosing contact with the windshield. Also, i think someone else here said to remove the arm itself and align it with the marks, you could try that. The wiper arm fits onto a splined shaft from the wiper linkage. When you remove the nut, ease the arm off the shaft by rocking it gently and then rotate it upward one or two "teeth" on the shaft. Just make sure that it's seated on the shaft correctly before you put the nut back on, or the teeth in the arm will strip when you start the wipers and they won't move. Then you'll have to buy a new shaft if it's stripped badly.
