Front End Work S70 1999

Well I got my car back today and my mechanic showed me the old strut mounts- they were cracked in two pieces. Woops. I do agree, that 100,000 miles for any fw drive car is a pretty loose statement, but my car feels a lot tighter now that it had the struts/mounts/bushings replaced, especially on the freeway. It kinda made me wonder how I ever drove on the freeway to begin with. Unfortunately, I was not the original owner of my '99 S70, so I had no idea about the car's history, although I bought it from a Volvo dealership with an extended warranty which was some peace of mind.

Why would my ABS/TRACS module fail?! I don't have TRACS, but do I still need to worry? Please say no. :)

About my diesel? It was an '84 240 Diesel with 90k miles when I bought it, M46 (I believe) stick, and it was in pretty fair condition, until after a couple of weeks of ownership when I found oil spots on the driveway, then injection pump problems, hard starting problems,... to say the least the car was a blast but it was falling apart. I loved it, and I would roll the windows down just to hear the diesel clatter, I guess I'm a true diesel-head. (It was also a lot of fun when someone would keep inching up my rear end at a red light, unbeknownst to them when the light turned green they'd get a face full of black smoke if I stepped on it)

But I do have to stop my ridiculously expensive hobby- buying Volvos. The first one was my dad's '79 242DL which was a tank but was sold for an '83 244DL, then the '84 Diesel, '87 764TI, '84 244TI, now my '99 S70. And being 21 and in college, Volvo's aren't the cars to drive if you have no $$. I just have this crazy obsession with these crazy Swedish cars ever since my dad drove home in his new green 242. Sometimes I wish I were crazed about Toyotas or something; I'd have a lot more $ in my pocket! ;)
