Battery blown S40-V40

It sounds to me that the alternator regulator is dead.
You can get the replacement parts to repair it but unless you are competent then the best option would be a new/reconditioned alternator.
I would'nt go to the dealers for anything unless you could'nt get it elsewhere.
The battery will also need replacing.
