oil in coolant V70-XC70

Noticing oil globules floating in my coolant. They've only gotten slightly worse over the past year. After checking the tranny fluid for the first time since the last change (about 18 months ago), I found it to be about a 3/4 inch over the "hot" line when it was cold. Is this way too much fluid and can this cause excessive pressure in the tranny forcing fluid into the coolant at the cooler? I don't see any visual indication that coolant has exchanged back into the tranny fluid.
Thanks for reading and knowledgable replies are welcome. Especially from the techs who often overfill fluids (because it's better than underfilling).
