coolant 850

Hello,

There has been alot of hype that only Volvo coolant fits in a Volvo cars, I own a Honda and it says "use only genuine Honda coolant"...

Car mfg's are known to scare people so they can sell their products....good for their pockets.

For me it is all garbage. Thes car mfg's do not make coolant, but rather ask another company to make it for them:

A nice article on Fluids etc for BMW by Jim Conforti is worth reading:

http://www.eskimo.com/~dalus/bmw/ftp/bmw/faq_jun6_96/FAQ.4

I have been using Prestone Coolant for the last 15 years on all my cars; change it every 2 years and have never had any problems with either the radiator or the heater.

Of note I change my thernostat at timing belt services at roughly 60-70K miles (Thermostat is only $14.00 but when failed will starnd you on the road, not to mention potential engine damage).

Hope this helps.

If your neigborhood has pets then I think it is still OK to use regular
Prestone, just make sure there are no leaks in your car.
