1998 S70 Alarm - Yes/No S70 1998

Hi,
First, let me say, great forum. I recently purchased a used 1998 s70 with 56K miles. So far, only replaced the breaks. The previous owner lost the keyless remotes, so I ordered a new one through my local dealer...about $120. The dealer programmed the remote, and the keyless entry works fine, however, how can I tell if my Volvo as the factroy alarm installed, as the factory mounted LED light does not illuminate. When I lock the doors, the parking lights flash as if armed but I have tried to set the alarm off, and no go. I searched the archive but could not find an answer to my question. Any help is appreciated.
