Lights turning off- is this a bug or a feature? S70 1998

So, I was dropping the kids off at daycare this morning. I left the car running ('98 S70) in Park with the parking brake and light switch on.

When I came out after a couple minutes, I noticed the tailights and front corner lamps were not lit, but the headlights were (I've got the DRLs disabled via the screw adjustment on the switch.) So, my question is, do the lights automatically turn off after a period of time while the vehicle is in park/the brake is engaged? I recycled the switch and all the lights came on as normal.
Is this a "feature," or do I maybe have a flaky switch?

Thanks.
