gear shift lever replacement 850 1994

Hello,
I am new to the world of Volvo's. I just bought a 1994 850 sedan. The car is in great shape, but the shift lever is deteriating. Can this be changed out easily? And if so, I can not seem to find a place that carries them. Any advice on the car itself would be appreciated. It has 113K miles and I got it for $3900.00. I hope I made the right decision.
