(almost) new to Volvos-need help with potential purchase (97 850R) 850

Check the maintenance section on volvospeed.com it has a fairly comprehensive listing of common repairs needed on 850 series. I've owned my R since new, and looking at the parts that have failed so far they seemed consistent with regular 850 s.

Overall the car is fairly easy to maintain. Lots of DIY information on Bay-13 at Volvospeed.com
