Cracked block S70 1998

John,

SOunds as if you may have a terminal problem. This is a shot in the dark but look into a product called Alumaloy made by Wendon Labs. It is some sort of alloy rod that will repair alumunum cracks etc and uses heat in the range of a propane torch so is more like brazing than welding. The problem I see is getting something the size and mass of an engine block hot enough although it may be possible with a larger torch. Search under "alumaloy" for the poop on it. Good luck!
