Should I be concerned with missing front brake retaining clips? 850 1994

I don't think there is any chance for the pads to come loose. I think the springs are there to prevent the pads from rattling around or lodging at an angle where they don't move freely. I had a spring on only on one side for a few years with no bad effect. When replacing pads brush or scrape all the corrosion and debris out of the caliper and check that the boots are intact and in place on the pistons. Use a brake lubricant. This may avoid a stuck brake later.
