Passenger Side Dash Loose 850

After chasing the cause of a squeaky dash for some time, I have finally realized that the passenger side of the dashboard is loose. By loose, I mean the entire thing can move up or down by about a half inch.

As a temporary measure, I have shoved a screw driver just below the pillar, thereby restricting movement. Presto....squeaks are gone, sanity slowly returning.

Why would this be loose? Anybody know a better fix than a screwdriver jammed in?
