Are the strips that fade, next to the luggage rack, under warantee or not? V70-XC70 2001

I have a 2001 XC, ASH Gold in color, 75K with an extended warantee. The trim strips next to the luggage rack have fadded and look terrible. What is an easy fix? Some people on the brickboard say they are under warantee. My dealer says they are not. What should I do?
