There seem to be too many AC ?s 850

My 95 854T had the same A/C problem. We were able to recharge for a long time. I pretty much knew we needed an evaporator. Then it started getting warm even when it was freshly recharged. We could shut it off for a few minutes then turn it back on and it would be cool again. Finally, it now never gets cool again...so I figured it is now the compressor that has gone bad...upping the repair price by what, nearly double??

Then I read that it could be the clutch on the compressor. But, I don't know if you can replace the clutch without replacing the whole compressor.

I would consider a roof A/C if it was around $400...but not $3000.
It is pretty miserable driving around FL in the summer without A/C.

Anyone know a good, honest, reasonably prices Volvo mechanic in the Tampa Bay area?
