Something else is wrong with this picture!!
If the ECU is susceptible to buildup of heat, how on earth is the Throttle module expected to survive fastened to a hot casting, and in the airflow path of air coming from the radiator and associated heat exchanger devices???? No wonder the damn things fail at 50,000 MI!
Anyone here read recently the article by Jamie Kitman inside back cover of Automobile magazine entitled " Crapulent Luxury"? He makes a good point..these aggressive manufcturers are wanting to introduce the latest electronic gizmos to beat out the competition, but at the same time, go to the least costly vendor, and don't invest adequate time to debug the software, and all the interactions among electronic gizmos in the same vehicle! The example in an earlier issue about the trip computer in a Jag X-type telling the driver she was in the middle of Lake Michigan was so much fun! But then I don't own an X-Type!
Maybe I own the wrong type of car..the earlier Volvos were so good! As Kitman said in that same article..he drove to Michigan in a High-performance Mitsubishi..not a luxo-barge, but it got him there with no warning lights on the instrument panel shining at him,
