How to read the ECU's mileage? 850 1995

Well, it finally happened...the Minnesota heat finally caused infamous odometer gear failure. At least I still have working air conditioning, and the moonroof is closed.

I've ordered a replacement gear already, but what I'm wondering is this: How do I check the ECU's recording of the mileage on the car? I've got a '95, so I assume I can connect the flylead to one of the connections under the hood, and do the normal "mash down on the button in some random order and watch for the flashes" routine.

Oh well, I knew it was coming... the trip odometer on the dash wasn't keeping up with the trip odometer in the trip computer.

I can't seem to go two months without having some kind of problem. I guess that's why we have (sometimes) love-hate relationships with our bricks.

Anyhow,

Thanks in advance,
