Installing V70 headlamp V70-XC70

I had replacing a broken headlamp and wanted to know how to pull the assembly out of the car. I see there are 3 10 MM bolts holding the assembly in but on top of the assembly is a level and a gear of some sort that connects into the headlamp assembly (to control the level of the beam??) I have been told after taking the 3 bolts out the unit pushes forward and you can then reconnect all the bulbs and electrical bits. Any tricks to working with the level and gear on top of the assembly? Thanks for your help.
