Engine stops when I put the shift to Parking???

Hi brickboarders,

Thanks so much for your kind replies to my previous questions regarding ABS, etc. I appreciate those valuable comments as always.
I am having a weird situation recently. When I park the car, press the brake pedal, put the Automatic shift to "Parking", and finally let the brake pedal go, that's when sometimes (not always but quite often) the engine died even though I did not turn the ignition switch to "Off". Can anyone let me know what could be the major cause of this symptom? My mechanice was not much of help with this matter. Thanks.
