ECC compressor not cycling 850 1996

Why do you think this is a problem?

The compressor will only cycle if:

It's low on gas and the LP side gets too low.
So if the gas is OK it will not cycle for this.

or

There is not enough heat in the incommimg air to evaporate the refrigerent in the evaporator and the HP side pressure gets too high.
Unlikely in the summer.

Cabin temperature is regulated by adding or removing heat from the heater matrix by changing the flap position not by regulating the cooling. If the cooling were regulated the AC would never come on in the winter.

You can read EEC codes on a '96 using an LED and a push button switch on pin 6 of the OBDII socket, do a search on this forum for EEC flashing lights for details.
