2000 2.9 S80 Thottle Body Cleaning S80 2000

Does anybody know if you can disconnect the battery, unplug the electronic throttle body and clean the carbon of the plate and reinstall without reprograming with a VADID cart when you reinstall the throttle body back on the car. Most cars this would be an unequivacal yes but I am afraid to mess with the Microsoft of cars(networked - made to keep dealers in business) without asking first. I would have thought with the battery disconected that the car would not "know" it had been removed? This is my wifes car, I have a 1998 Saab 900 SET and I can do whatever I want to it. Thank you for your help.
