Sounds like the................. V70-XC70 1998

Ole airpump...........to verify it......first thing in the morning or on a cold start open the hood.....start the car...immediatley put it in gear....back up about 20 feet....stop the car in park and leave it running.....go out to the hood area and by the battery if ya hear a nasty whine or grinding noise for about 1 minute or so then it stops.....its your airpump on its way out...only if it sounds like grinding noise.....whine or whistling is OK!
