ETS - Reboot the computer if stranded V70-XC70 1999

I brought my 99V70AWD in for a new ETM (Electronic Throttle Module) this past Friday and left my dealer with a $20 software upgrade instead. The car run great. I was releived not to drop the $650 for the new ETM. Next day I was with my wife and daughter were driving through the Adirondacks on a lonely country road - ETS light went on again - car died - 20 MPH max and a long way from home - No service on the cell phone. I had heard from my regular volvo mechanic that if this happens, you should disconnect the battery and reconnect, this will reboot the car's computer. It worked! The car got us home. Drove the car to work this morning and it died again. It's on a flatbed on the way to the dealer as I type this. I'd have rebooted again but AAA covers the tow so what the hell.... I have read posts where people get totally standed by the ETS... Just reboot. There's a 10mm wrench in the trunk that comes in really handy.
