When should you replace the water hoses on an 850?' 850 1996

Hello Everyone,

I purchased new a 1996 850 GLT Wagon with a 5 speed. The car just turned 200,000 and I still have the original water hoses. Every 5,000 miles when I change the oil, I spray silicone on the upper water hose. As a result it still looks and feels new. I haven't sprayed the lower water hose because I don't have access to it. I have no idea what kind of shape the lower water hose is in. I flush the coolant with Volvo anti-freeze each year. The hoses don't leak.

Question: Should I replace the hoses to be safe? What advice and experience have other Volvo owners had? Please advise. Thanks.

Hugh
