ECC INTERIOR CABIN TEMP SENSOR - Faulty S70 1998

Phil, I do not think that your OBD tool will read ECC codes. Those are proprietatry Volvo codes and only Volvo Scan Tool can read and reset them. There can be more than one code set as well. In addition to your fan not spinning you may have a faulty sensor. It is unfortunate, but Volvo has closed the doors on the tree-shade mechanics and has done so more agressively every year since MY98. In MY2001, for example, you can't even change or add stereo components without Volvo say-so (and $$ pay-so). Sorry to hear about your problem. I've been having these issues off and on for a long time. I have extended warranty and take it in using that. Every time I get a different thing: temp sensor, actuator motor, etc. So, I keep paying the $50 deductable. When the warranty runs out, I am not sure what I wil do...

Cheers!
