2000 S40 Battery Charge Failure light S40-V40

I have a 2000 S40 with 44.5k miles on it. As I was driving home tonight the battery charge failure light flickered on an off a few times. The light never really stayed on for an extended period of time. I pulled over and turned the car off for a few minutes, then started it back up. The light has not come back on since. I just tested the voltage of the battery with the engine on and off and the volts read the correct numbers; 14v on and 12v off.

Does any one have any thoughts about this?

Thanks in advance, Edvig
