Brake Fault Code 4-1-2 850 1993

my car gave a fault code of 4-1-2 this morning for a "faulty return valve for LH front brake, open circuit or short circuit". what does this mean and how do i go about fixing it? would this fault code cause my brake pedal to send a bad signal to my shift lever microswitch?

the car is a 93 850. i replaced the front rotors and pads on it a few days ago. the next day after replacing those parts my car would not shift out of park unless i used the shift lock override button. i figured it was the microswitch that went bad. then i used my remote starter (has been flawless since install) and tried to shut it off with the brake pedal. the car didn't shut off which was very unusual so im thinking there is a problem in the brake system. please help.

thanks
