Engine does not start after long ride on hot day or uphill ride 850 1995

I have a 850 wagon turbo (1995) that is just wonderful @ 130K mi. Lately it does not start after a long ride on a hot day. About 85F and about an hr ride?? Or on the uphill on a cooler day 70F after a 3hr ride. It starts up fine after resting / cooling for a 1/2 hr. My mechanic could not find anything wrong with it.
I would appreciate any suggestions.
