Bosch or MicronAir cabin filter--same company? S40-V40 2000

I ordered Bosch P3787 cabin air filters from a US online vendor for my 2000 US S40.

The boxes say Bosch P3787, and the installation instruction sheet shows a filter like the original Volvo filters, but the filter is of an inferior design, and is a MicronAir VV00140P.

It doesn't have the semirigid sides with the comb teeth, so when inserting, it buckles and bunches up, and it isn't possible to tell if the upper part has a gap.

MicronAir seems to be a different company: http://www.micronair.com/
The site does list this filter for the S40.

Did I get ripped off? Does anyone have a similar experience with aftermarket cabin/pollen filters?

If this company actually swapped an inferior product into the box (my order page shows the Bosch product) I'd like to report them for fraud.

Wanted to see others' opinions before attempting to contact Bosch.
