Are there 850s to avoid when buying? 850

I'm a student in So. Cal with a '94 850. Been a very good car (knocks on wood) but I did get lucky and got a used car that was babied. Buying a used 850 is somewhat of a crap shoot. My honest opinion, if you want to save some $$$, is perhaps to check out the Saturn ION. Don't laugh just yet. Check out the safety features and simplicity of the car first, then make a decision. If you still want a Volvo you should look for a 95+ non turbo 850 with records or a 94/95 940 if you find one in great shape. I've had both an 850 and 940 and have had good experiences with both. The 940 is basically as close to 240 perfection as you can get (I also once had an '88 244). Good luck!
