Air Conditioning Problems V70-XC70

Well I know that the summer heat is all but gone but here are my symptons--

AC works fine for about 20 mins of city driving then there is a noticable cutting out of the AC--fan is still blowing just not conditioned air.

I turn off the AC, after 5 mins I turn it back on --the AC blows cold but then after about ten minutes quits blowing cold.

About a month ago I took to a indy and they spent 3 hours @ $70 p/h trouble shooting--they said they found a loose wire in the harness --however problem persists.

Here's the caveat--On a long trip to florida on the interstate the AC blew cold just fine for 5 hours--

I'm thinking that the compressor is freezing up--is that possible.

The fact that it works at high rpms seems to point to the fact that the compreessor is working but that auxicllary systems are casung the cold air to cut out.

Any advice would be awesome--especially as I don't want to spend another $200 on a wild goose chase.

cje
