740 wheels on an 850? 850 1996

I just purchased a 1996 850 with alloy wheels, and have sold my 740 to my daughter. I have a set of 15" steel wheels for the 740 (for winter use), and want to know if they will fit on the 850, and if so whether it is worth getting snow tires for the 850.

I had Michelin Artic Alpins on the 740 and my wife's 240 wagon, and that worked out quite well here in snowy Buffalo.

The 850 has traction control, and of course it's FWD, so the handling should be very different than the rear wheel drive cars. What has worked well for others?

Charles
