British Touring Car Championship 850

Does anyone remember when the Volvo wagons were winning in the British Touring Car races, I guess about ten years ago? What size motor did they have and who made the transmission? I would surmise that they had the five cylinder, with a stick shift, but does anyone know for sure? Got to drive a friend's new Mitsubishi Evo RS the other day (what a blast!), and this got me thinking "Volvo's used to to have a wagon that went like a bat out of hell", I also presume that Volvo never sold a turbo wagon with a five speed.
Anyone able to enlighten me?
