740 wheels on an 850? 850 1996

The offset for 850s are about 43mm whereas 700 or 900 series cars are in the 25mm range. I tried an old 740 steelie on the rear of my 850 and the rim edge was right out to the fender lip. I didn't even try it, but suspect that using a 740 rim in the front of the 850 would put the tire well outside the fender.

Cheers,

Bill
