Fuel filter replacement S40-V40

I have a 2000 S40 with 90k miles. I am changing the fuel filter and have two questions based on the Haynes (96-99) manual.

On a 2000 engine, do you still need to release the fuel pressure by depressing the pin at the service valve at the right hand of the fuel rail? I couldn't find the dust cap that the manual speaks of.

Also, when disconnecting the quick-release couplings on either end of the fuel filter, how much force is required? Do you just arrange your tool on the filter and the coupling and push them apart?

Thanks in advance.
