Looking to buy V70-XC70

So is the '01/'02 V70 a good choice? Edmunds says the '01 was a redesign and that means first-year bugs, right? Is it best to stick with pre 2001 models?

I'm planning on looking for a used V70 Wagon next year and will spend up to $20K if I find the perfect car, the newer the better, but then again if I could get a great car for less, that's icing on the cake.
