Changing brake fluid 850 1997

Hi Jmiked,

The owners manual calls for DOT 4, If you are going to be by yourself with no helpr, get a pressurizing device.
Do a search of the archives for FWD on this web site and see what people have written about ABS brake systems and bleeding the brakes.

Lastly a tip, Get as much of the old fluid out of the resovouir as possible with a Turkey baster syringe or a peice of Tygon hose and put your finger over the end like getting a drink out of a glass with a straw, then put in new fluid, then start the bleed job. No need to push all of that old fluid through the brake systemnt.
Use plenty of rags around the resovouir when doing this so if you spill some it dous not get everywhere in the engine bay.
