Attractive high mileage 94 850 wagon - should I run away before I do something stupid? 850 1994

Saw a pretty decent looking 94 wagon today with 184K. Body is pretty good and the interior is excellent. It is that sharp nautic blue with a tan cloth interior. I really like that combo. Didn't spend much time looking it over but it is a base model, slushbox with a sunroof.

Considering going back and driving tomorrow if possible. It's on a reputable used car dealers lot. He is asking $1900, is that about right or I'm asking for trouble with this one?

Since I normally spend my time on the 240 board, I'm not very 850 fluent, so if I can get some help from you FWD folks that would be great!

I do know that the trannies are supposed to be weak on the early cars. Is it just the 93's or the 94's too? Isn't the A/C Evaporator a problem area too? How do I check that? Besides the usual, anything else I should check out?

If this is a good car, I might buy it to keep my 240 company. Am I nuts to think about buying a high mileage 850? Or is my Volvoitis getting worse?

Thanks all,
