Transmission flush or not. 850 1995

There has been a lot of discussion here about the benefits of a tranny flush, but according to some there is also a danger, the possibility of a complete breakdown in a high mile vehicle. My 850 Turbo has nearly 180.000 miles on it and I have no idea if the fluid has ever been changed in this car.(the tranny works just fine and would like to keep it that way.) So I was wondering if I would gain anything by simply draining as much of the fluid as would come out of the pan, replace that with fresh fluid and then repeating the same process a few months later. Also can I mix regular with syntethic fluid.
Thank you, Peter
