I am sure I will be corrected if wrong, but I have heard that the GL stands for Grand Luxury and GLT stands for Grand Luxury Touring. If you have a 1996 GLT, you in fact should have a highline car with a good options package. There should be a chrome GLT identifier under the passenger side tail light. If your car has a turbo, you will have a turbo boost gage above the fuel gage.
