The last tune up I did on the 1996 850 GLT (105,000 miles) included the following: Cap, Rotor, Bosch plugs, Plug wires, Flame trap, and Air filter. I also replace the cabin air filter, fuel filter, and O2 sensors because of the mileage.

You should also flush automatic trannys every 30,000 miles, as the transmission does not have a filter. Timing belt is every 60,000 miles (NO EXCEPTIONS). If you don't have a Volvo owner’s manual for your car, get on EBay or somewhere you can get one. There is a maintenance schedule listed in the back that is rather complete. Your local Volvo dealer should also be able to supply you with a single sheet recommended maintenance schedule.
