question for CHRISSIJ 850

Here, I have a tech with a smoke machine, but until he got that, the code would generally tell us where to look. Lean code, vacuum hose on intake side, rich code, vacuum hose on other side of intake, anyhow...

The idle is controlled by air flow, which is controlled by the idle air controller (idle air motor) which gets information from the ECU. To find the leak take the cover off of the idle air motor exposing the two hoses on it. Now spray carb cleaner all along the hoses at the idle air motor, the air inlet hose, the flame trap (don't have one on a turbo), etc. When the idle audibly changes, spit, sputter, wheeze, cough, that will be where the offending hole is. If there is no hole that can be found, you could have "over cleaned" the idle air motor. Seems they like to have a little grease in there. If everything checks out okay, smack the idle air motor and see if the idle calms down.

In answer to the other question, the tp sensor sits on the rear of the throttle housing, small black sensor with a connector going to it.

Again, hope this helps in some small way,

Chris
